Thank You Veterans!
From all of us at ApplicantOne: Happy Veteran's Day.
Today, we hold in our hearts, the memory of those, past and present, who served in honor of our Nation. We feel especially grateful today, as one of our employees, Lue Gill, is one of those servicemen that risked it all for his country.Here is a note from Lue about his time in the service. Please read and share with all of those who served along side him:
"There I am. Walking the Kentucky hills, rifle and Javelin in hand. Surrounded by some of America’s best. My brothers (and sisters).
Readying for what needed done. Sometimes I wonder where did this kid go? I miss this kid...That kid is better than me.
Truth is, I yearn for him to be back everyday. There was something about him. He was Sharp. Always on his toes. Surrounded and counting on other kids, just like him..He was a sheepdog. Ready to sniff-out and fight the wolves.
Sometimes I feel the need for him, after I’ve seen all the two-faced wolves in sheep’s clothing abound and unchecked in this (civilian) world. The conniving, the schemers, the false. The backstabbers. The mean-spirited who take advantage and oppressing their fellow man...All lucky, this kid is no longer there and an older and “wiser” man is left instead, for this kid would have done what needed done once more.
As for all of you “kids” out there, today once again I leave you with Shakespeare’s Henry the Fifth:
“This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother...”
Sailor, Airman, Jarhead or Grunt.
Happy Vet’s day.
..and to all the wolves out there: Our oath does not expire. We are still watching."
Thank you Lue, not just from your teammates here at ApplicantOne, but from your community, your state, and your nation! Your sacrifice and the sacrifice of others is something we will never be able to repay.
